Hello my loves,
After going on holiday recently I went into a few charity shops looking for some great book steals and low and behold…I found them! (Because let’s be honest, when am I not looking for an excuse to buy new books). Here’s what I picked up!
☼
The Underground Railroad – Colson Whitehead
Such a super important read and one I cannot wait to start, it’s been on my TBR for a very long time now and so I’m really happy that I finally have a copy to get stuck into.
Northern Lights – Philip Pullman

This is the first book in the His Dark Materials series and I actually already own a copy of it (which I didn’t realise at the time). Long story short I saw it in a charity shop and was 50/50 on whether or not I actually already owned it (the copy I own is a different version) but I had no signal on my phone to check whether or not it was the same book so I bought it anyway just in case. Turns out it was in fact the same book and so now I own two copies of Northern Lights so this one will be making its way back to the charity shop!
Specials – Scott Westerfeld

This is the third book in the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld which for some reason, I always see in charity shops. I actually bought my copy of Uglies from a charity shop a couple of years ago (book review for that here) and so when I saw this one I thought I may as well buy it. I haven’t actually read the second book in this series yet but no doubt it’ll turn up in one of the next charity shops I have a snoop around in so, I’ll get to reading it soon.
The Sun and Her Flowers – Rupi Kaur

Ladies and gentlemen I present to you, the steal of the century. I walked into a charity shop where all of the books were 50p. 50 English pence. 65 cents for the Americans. I walked over to the bookshelves and low and behold, what did I see. A brand new pristine copy of The Sun and Her Flowers…for 50p. FIFTY FREAKING PENCE. I swiped that you know what up quicker than you could say Swiper no swiping. Clearly I was having good karma that day because I don’t think I’ll ever get a bargain as good as that again in my life. WHAT A STEAL.
George Michael, The Biography – Rob Jovanovic

Can’t say I’ve ever been that much of a fan of biographies however for 50p there was no way I wasn’t going to buy this as I pretty much read every GM book I can get my hands on, plus I always love the beautiful pictures that are featured inside. It was a very good book buying day.

Luckily this post was short but I have another book haul coming up in a couple of weeks and uh…it’s the biggest one I’ve ever done, so look forward to that! I need to stop buying so many books all the time but let’s be real, that’ll never happen. A girl can dream.
All my love,

Hahaha I can raise my hand to that one, my original review on here of milk and honey was quite extreme! Until I re-read it a couple of years later and went back to change it. The sun and her flowers fared much better though! xx

Such a good haul gal! I finished The Underground Railroad earlier this year, and I haven’t felt so moved or loved a book as much as I loved that one in a long time – so beautifully written! And GIRL! I got my hands on the sun and her flowers the exact same way for literally $1 at an op shop!! x

Eek that makes me even more eager to read it now, it’s definitely at the top of my TBR pile. As if you got the sun and her flowers in the same way, high five !! X
